Mary Running, LMHC – Counselor
At some point everyone goes through periods of life that are challenging and you may feel overwhelmed. I see myself as a guide in the therapeutic process and the client as the expert in the room. While you go through the issues that brought you into the counseling process you will find the answers are within yourself. I will help you uncover and understand your challenges, moods, relationships and how to approach them with new insights.
We will partner to develop new coping skills; face PTSD issues; work through depression; practice conflict resolution; learn to manage stress and anxiety; and address life transitions. You will tell me the goals you have for therapy, and I will help you obtain the desired outcome.
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Washington and graduated from Bastyr University with a Masters in Applied Behavioral Science. I have ten years counseling experience working with families, couples, adolescents, individuals, the ID/DD population, providing crisis intervention and stabilization, in addition to experience working with chronically mentally ill clients.
My therapeutic approach is to meet my clients where they are in life, in a judgment free environment and provide support that is designed to fit your specific needs. I most frequently utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems Therapy and Narrative Therapy.
