Valerie Dillon, LMHC – Counselor
My name is Valerie Dillon. Beginning the exploration of your thoughts, feelings and behaviors is a courageous challenge. I view people as experts in their own lives who sometimes need assistance from another in shedding light on what may be getting in the way of achieving their goals personally or professionally. Being able to begin this journey in an atmosphere of non-judgement and understanding can help you recognize what you already know, and where areas of growth may be necessary.
I have experience in working with people in transition, processing issues of grief and loss, and the exploration of aiding others in realizing that whatever mental health challenges one is facing that they are a human being first, and the diagnosis is secondary. I use Mindfulness, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and sometimes the best tools are the ones we discover together.
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of Washington. I have a Master’s degree from Bastyr University in Applied Behavioral Science. I have been working in the community mental health field for the past 8 years working with individuals, couples and families. I look forward to meeting with you and assisting you in moving forward in your life.
