Shelby Rosales

LMHCA

I believe therapy is a deeply personal journey, and it’s truly a privilege to be invited into your process of healing and growth. I especially enjoy working with children, teens, young adults, and parents, and I see our work together as a collaborative partnership—one where we identify what matters most to you and move toward your goals at a pace that feels supportive and manageable.

My approach is holistic and developmentally attuned. I consider the full picture of your life, including biological factors, emotional and psychological patterns, relationships, family dynamics, and the social environments you’re navigating—whether that’s school, friendships, or family life. I also care deeply about the larger systems that shape our lives and how they impact identity, belonging, and well-being. I often incorporate art and creative expression to help clients process experiences, especially when words are hard to find. I sometimes bring my licensed therapy dog, Olive, whose calm and comforting presence can help clients feel more at ease and supported during sessions.

I strive to create a space where kids and teens feel safe to be themselves, and where parents feel supported rather than judged. Therapy can take courage at any age, and at times it may feel challenging, but my intention is always to offer a space where you feel respected, understood, and valued.

While I take this work seriously, I also believe in the healing power of connection, creativity, and even laughter. With younger clients, I often incorporate creativity and play, and with teens and young adults, I bring curiosity, authenticity, and a sense of humor when it feels helpful.

Outside of my work, I’m a mom to two young boys, which gives me a lived understanding of both the joys and challenges of parenting and family life. Earlier in my life, I spent time living in New Zealand and Belize and had the opportunity to travel more broadly—experiences that expanded my perspective and continue to shape how I connect with others.

In my free time, I’m drawn to gardening, camping, art, and creative expression. I share my life with several rescue pets, who bring both joy and grounding into my everyday life. In quieter moments, you’ll find me puzzling or crocheting, often with a good cup of tea nearby.

Being a therapist is not just my profession—it’s something I find deeply meaningful and fulfilling, and I feel honored to support children, teens, young adults, and families in their growth and healing.
