My name is Valerie Dillon (she/her). Beginning the exploration of your thoughts, feelings and behaviors is a courageous challenge. I view people as experts in their own lives who sometimes need assistance from another in shedding light on what may be getting in the way of achieving both personal and professional goals. Being able to begin this journey in an atmosphere of non- judgement and understanding can help you recognize what you already know, and where areas of growth may be necessary.
I have experience in working with people in life transitions, processing issues of grief and loss, and am LGBTQ sensitive. I work to create a safe place for aiding others in realizing that whatever mental health challenges they are facing, that they are a human being first. I use Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Lifespan Integration, Narrative Therapy; and sometimes the best tools are the ones we discover together.
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of Washington. I have a Master’s degree from Bastyr University in Applied Behavioral Science. I have been working in the mental health field for the past 16 years working with primarily adult individuals. I look forward to meeting with you and assisting you in moving forward in your life.
